Welcome to Learn English with the Bible!

I’m so glad you are here! My name is Sharon, and I am here to help you learn English by studying the Bible. We continue to add new content weekly. Please sign up for our newsletter so we can notify you of new content.

About Me

I’m a CELTA-certified ESL teacher for adults who need to learn this language for work, travel, and any other reason. I speak American English with a standard accent, so I will teach you the grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary that we use in the United States.

Why Do I Use the Bible for Lessons?

In the past, when I made lessons for my classes, it was difficult to find good stories or articles to study. Many times I wrote my own! One day, I thought, “Why not use Bible stories for my lessons? Then my students can learn the Bible and study English at the same time!” And that’s how this website was born.

Your First Step - Pronunciation

I believe it is very important to learn English pronunciation while you learn English grammar. If you are new to English, and new to my website, please start with the section on pronunciation! If you learn to pronounce things correctly in the beginning, all your lessons will be much easier.

For Students and Teachers

For students, we offer self-study lessons that you can do at your own pace. Teachers can also use these lessons in your classes. You can read articles about English grammar and other topics by clicking on the menu bar at the top of the page, and the blog posts list on the right side.

For teachers, we offer ready-to-use lesson plans to help you teach ESL in your community or church using Bible-based materials. Request a free sample curriculum about Jesus’ teaching about the Kingdom of God – just click this button.

Great News! Our new book of lesson plans, “The Story of Easter,” is finished! These lesson plans take students through the last days of Jesus’ life, from the last three chapters of the gospel of Matthew. You’ll find prepared lesson plans with worksheets, activities, classroom projects, and even a final quiz. Be sure to subscribe to the email newsletter so I can send you updates and occasional discount codes.
