Vocabulary Exercise

Here are 5 vocabulary words to study, from the seventh day of creation.

  1. Read the word.
  2. Learn the meaning of the word.
  3. Listen to the pronunciation.
  4. Look at how it is spelled.
  5. Understand how it is used in the sample sentences.

1. so

/səʊ/ (adverb)

The word so has many meanings. In today’s lesson, it means to talk again about something that has already been said.

I promise to be with you and keep you safe, so don’t be afraid.  (Jeremiah 1:8)

But you forgive us, and so we will worship you. (Psalms 130:4)

2. everything else

/ˈev ri θɪŋ els/ (noun phrase, singular)

in addition to something that has already been said

The officer and the soldiers guarding Jesus felt the earthquake and saw everything else that happened. (Matthew 27:54)

Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and cound it all as garbage. All I want is Christ.  (Philippians 3:8)

3. finish

/ˈfɪn ɪʃ/ (verb)

to stop doing something because it is complete

Moses finished speaking and everyone left.  (Exodus 35:20)

I think you should finish what you started.   (2 Corinthians 8:11)

4. special

/ˈspe ʃl/ (adjective)

not ordinary; different from what is normal

His followers are chosen and special and faithful.  (Revelation 17:14)

God loves you and has chosen you as his own special people.  (Colossians 3:12)

5. make

/meɪk/ (verb)

The word make has many meanings. In today’s verse, it means to create something by putting parts together.

Make music for him on harps.   (Psalms 98:5)

Start making bricks!  (Nahum 3:14)
