Lesson 1 is the Parable of the Seed and the Sower, which is found in Luke 8, verses 4-15. This is part six of Intermediate Lesson 1, or you can do it as an individual writing exercise.

Let’s practice writing by using a part of this parable.

  1. When you click “play,” you will hear a section of the parable spoken three times. The first time, just listen.
  2. The second time, the speaker will pause after a few words so you can write. You can also pause the recording if you need more time.
  3. The third time the speaker reads the text, she will read the whole passage again so you can check your work.

When you have checked everything, click the link to open the PDF with the finished text, so you can see how you did.

Dictation is a great way to practice your English writing! Listen for pauses in the speech, and insert punctuation like commas and periods. Remember to use capital letters at the beginning of sentences, and for proper nouns like Jesus and Jerusalem.

Here we go! Do your best.

Here is a downloadable PDF of the text, so you can check your work.

Now, move on to the last section, the Discussion Questions.
