Congratulations! You have finished the lesson. You’ll find all the links for each part of the lesson again at the bottom of this page. Now let’s look at the discussion questions for the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

Though it may be very important for you to learn English, it is more important for you to learn what God says in his Word about how much He loves us, and how He wants us to live and love others. Think about these questions. Write the answers in your notebook, in English or in your native language. Discuss them with a friend, or with your English class.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

  1. Why do you think Jesus answered the expert’s question with another question?
  2. Who are your neighbors? Do you treat them like the Good Samaritan treated the injured stranger? How do you treat them?
  3. Why did Jesus mention a priest and a temple worker in the story? What did they do in the story? What do you expect people like that to do in real life?
  4. What does it mean to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength and mind? How does a person know if he or she is doing this?
  5. The term “good Samaritan” is a common expression in English. It means “someone who is compassionate and helps people in need.” Do you know any good Samaritans in your life?
  6. Can you think of or find other verses in the Bible that talk about how important it is to love others?
